U9 v Queen's

Following a long drive to Taunton to face Queens, the Wells U9's set to the task exceptionally well in what proved to be a hugely entertaining attacking match.

Wells started on the front foot after some great forward running from Thomas Bradbury gaining territory before Will Sharp finished the move impressively. Max Tunnicliffe powered his way over the line not long after to put his side two try's to the good.

Queens were up for the fight though and following some stout defence from Josef Zurawkowski and Ted Huzal eventually broke through, scoring two quick fire try's.

Wells have made huge strides in a short period of time and this was evident with their lines ensuring they remained behind the ball carrier at all times. The defensive line was also reformed following tackles with Indy Matheson and Fox White either end ensuring Wells remained disciplined.

Benjamin Cowley finished superbly resisting several opposition tackles to crash over the line. The back and fourth scoring continued with Oliver Vaughan carrying the ball bravely into contact regularly to puncture the Queen's defence.

Arthur Ashton showed superb resilience to shrug off his injury to add some intensity to the Wells team and Andrew Thomas fearless in his recovery of the loose ball afforded Wells ground to attack.

In the end Queens squeezed to a 6 trys to five victory but this was a fantastic display by both teams and a significantly improved performance from Wells who really took the coaching points given by Mr Ward, Mr Peppa and myself on board and we are all very proud of their efforts.
